Documents people usually self attest
| Document | Pages | Where to sign |
|---|---|---|
| Class 10 and 12 marksheets | 1 each | Bottom margin, clear of the board seal |
| Degree certificate and consolidated marks | 1–4 | Bottom right of every page |
| Caste, income or domicile certificate | 1–2 | Below the issuing officer’s signature, never across it |
| Experience or relieving letter | 1–2 | Bottom margin of each page |
| Rent agreement or address proof | Many | Every page, same spot on each |
Keep the signed PDF small enough to upload
Many portals cap uploads at 200 KB to 2 MB. A PDF made from phone photos can be much larger. If that happens, pick the JPG output for each page, or scan at a lower resolution before signing. A single ID page is easier with the self attested photocopy.

Questions
Do I have to sign every page of a self attested document?
Usually yes. Offices that ask for self attested copies expect each page of the copy to carry your signature, so a removed or swapped page is easy to spot. Select a mark and tick “Put on every page” to place it on all pages in one go.
Will the text in my PDF stay selectable?
Yes, for normal PDFs. Your signature and the words you add are placed on top of the original pages, so the text and quality of the PDF stay the same. Scanned image pages stay as they were too.
My PDF is password protected. Can I still sign it?
Not directly. Open it in a PDF reader with the password and save or print it to a new PDF without the password, then upload that copy.
How many pages can I sign?
Up to 30 pages in one PDF, or up to 30 images at once. Large scans are handled on your phone or computer, so very old phones may need a little more time.
Can I combine my Aadhaar front and back into one signed PDF?
Yes. Choose both images together, add your marks to each page, and download the PDF. The pages appear in the order you picked the files.
The portal wants a JPG under 200 KB, not a PDF.
Choose “JPG ≤ 200 KB” (or 100 KB) under Choose the output. You get the page that is currently shown, signed and compressed to fit the limit.
